Keep Kratom Legal

Making Kratom a schedule I drug would be a travesty and an inaccurate use of the current drug scheduling used by the Federal government and most states.  Kratom has many theraputic uses.  The main one I’ve seen and the most beneficial has been helping those addicted to opioids wean themselves off opioids and then wean themselves off of Kratom.

Just as with alcohol, responsible use of Kratom is neither dangerous or adversely addictive.  Currently if I forego the daily use of coffee I will get intense and unwelcome headaches.  One I like coffee, two it’s legal and three if for some reason I couldn’t drink it at the worst I’d have a few unpleasant days.  Kratom is really no worse. If I forego useage of Kratom my only withdrawal effect is a bit of insomnia which goes away after 3-4 days.  Making Kratom a schedule I drug would grossly quantify the plant incorrectly.
