To whom it may concern - having closely studied the science behind kratom and its chief chemical components, I urge you to stop this criminalization effort. I and many thousands, perhaps millions, of others call for well-founded, thoughtful analysis, not political fear-mongering, and any even cursory examination of the scientific data will show that criminalization efforts like this one are the product of fear-mongering. Scheduling efforts like this stifle important research and shackle individual rights, and frankly we are tired of political reactions that ultimately HURT the public, as this one no doubt will if passed. Stand with true public health advocates who hold to a scientific, evidence-based approach, and reject this effort. Politics should not replace science in matters of public health.
