As a teacher who’s worked with children for over 10 years, I believe this new regulation isn’t helpful or beneficial to children. Kids learn in so many ways alongside each other through interactions and play. Young children can learn vocabulary, gross motor skills, and social/emotional skills from older kids, and the older children learn how to play in gentle ways, learn how to help incorporate everyone in play so other children don’t feel left out, and important leadership skills when playing with children younger than them. I believe this new regulation will ultimately have a negative impact on children instead of it being helpful.
