Support for Implementing 2021 Legislation

Hello:

I am writing to express support for the finalized regulations. I am a board-certified psychiatric pharmacist and registered pharmacist in the state of Virginia.

The 2021 amendments to sections 54.1-3300 and 54.1-3303-1 of the Code of Virginia, led by Delegate Sam Rasoul, received widespread bipartisan support. The change expanded patient access to treatment for HIV pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis, tuberculosis skin testing, vaccines, and health supplies and equipment. We appreciate the continued support of the legislature in expanding access to pharmacist-provided care in the Commonwealth.

We acknowledge and appreciate the Board of Pharmacy for implementing these changes. We have no suggested revisions to the finalized regulations.

Sincerely,

Joseph Cusimano, PharmD, BCPP
