I do not support this petition. The menhaden purse seine industry is a staple of the local (and state) economy. Continued attacks of the commercial fishing industry (which provides a livelihood for THOUSANDS of employees as well as thousands employed in support industries) because of concerns for SPORT fishing  (game fish such as Red Drum) is simply ridiculous. It is disheartening that as the Chesapeake Bay area becomes more developed and inhabited, those inhabitants exhibit a blatant disrespect for the historic aquaculture of the area.
