Hello- Over the course of my lifetime I have seen the recreational fishing in the Northern Neck decline astronomically. These sentiments are shared by virtually all who live there. The bay is cleaner than it has been in decades, yet fish populations suffer. I would like our government to restrict menhaden commercial fishing, and have the quota set by science not politics. The more menhaden we lose the worse the bay suffers. This is not a question of jobs. Omega protein employees less than 1% of the Northern Neck population. I am a capitalist, yet I cannot sit back and watch the bay (one of the greatest treasures our state has) continue to be pillaged by a CANADIAN company. Force their fleets to fish the ocean not the bay.
