If it were true that menhaden purse seine nets were 'destroying the bottom' of the Chesapeake Bay and the underwater grasses, why is it that VIMS' annual survey, most recently released in July 2023, shows that the worst losses of underwater grasses in the Bay is in Maryland where there is no purse seine fishing?
