Something must be done to reform the actions being taken by Omega. Our entire marine ecosystem here in NJ revolves around the menhaden stock. A Virginia based company has no business coming here and stripping our coast lines of a precious resource. The reckless and abundant take on this species is affecting millions of animals, some of which are endangered and/or protected. How much bi-catch is being discarded during this process? When sailing in the Chesapeake three years ago, the amount of striped bass floating around the bay as a result was astonishing, and completely disturbing. All of these “rockfish” were undersized and never have a chance to reach reproductive maturity. Omega needs to be further limited on their take quotas. They are destroying the Chesapeake Bay and the entire Mid-Atlantic coastline. Thank you
