I have been fishing the Chesapeake Bay since I was a kid. Over the past five years, I have spent at least 200 out of 365 days of the year on the water each year. Every day I see the Bunker population get worse. And the fish act different with fewer bunker, they simply don’t act how they should. This year was the worst I have seen. I didn’t see any pods of mature bunker until the second week of July, in previous years I noticed bunker sooner. I have done as much research on bunker as the next person, and have also checked on the map every morning where omega is. If I find a large quantity of bunker it doesn’t take long for omega to fly the plane over then send the ships. Last year the bunker were literally netted out from under us. The bay should be a sanctuary, omega needs to leave the bay alone. It’s a foreign company ruining one of the best fisheries in the east coast, even the osprey are struggling to catch bunker.
Thank you,
