Support net reg 392

Nets are too big and deep…our striped bass, cobia and red drum are feeding in these schools when they are caught . This is killing the game fish that our 300,000 lid anglers and their friends and kids want to catch. What we spend hundreds of millions of dollars on our fishing boats a year and in most of the Md bay no one is getting much use out of their boats. More than 500 marinas have seen usage for fishermen plummet. Striped bass anglers had one million fewer trips in 2016 ( last data) than in 2009 and spending decreased  by 150 million a year at VA small businesses just from losses in striped bass fishing.

striped bass are a menhaden overharvesting “ indicator species” along with ospreys under the ASMFC ERP definitions and both species are in reproductive failure in Chesapeake Bay.  This proves gross overfishing which could be mitigated somewhat by this reg. I urge its passage
