I agree completely with the need for purse seine depth regulations. I live on the Rappahannock river at the the Norris bridge and several weeks ago the Omega fleet was purse seining at the bridge for several hours. Later that afternoon and the next day I had large floating patches of sea grass wash up on my rip rap and marsh shoreline. I thought this was odd since we had not had any major storms to cause this condition. Now this makes perfect sense why I saw the sea grass washing up probably from the damage being caused caused by the purse seining in the shallow waters. Purse seine depth regulations are needed to protect the fragile sea bottom from damage and allow sport fish to escape through the bottom without causing massive byproduct fish kills.
