I considered becoming an EOR for a friend because there is no family member within 300 miles and my friend needs help caring for two special needs children. However, if felt intrusive, becoming that involved with the children, monitoring activities and paperwork, and managing my own responsibilities with a job, school, and caregiving for a parent myself. My friend's life is challenging, to say the least. Please don't make it harder for her and her children. The convoluted process makes it difficult for the parent(s) and the people that want to help.
