We have posted “help wanted” ads for attendants for our two disabled children (14 yr old Autistic, 11 yr old bipolar). We have had no responses. 
We posted on Care.com, Facebook groups, nearby universities and churches, etc. We have not been able to secure the help our children badly need. Because of their disability- my children can be aggressive, need help taking medicine, reminders and help with daily living skills and staying safe. 
Our family consists of 3 children with special needs and two parents. My husband works full time but I am not able to work full time due to my children’s special needs. 
In the past, we have found college students but they only can be with us for a couple months in the summer. 
Please consider our family as you are making changes that will effect thousands of families in Virginia.
