Reimbursing Legally Responsible Individuals Fact Sheet - Extraordinary Care

Proposing we prove “extraordinary care,” meaning Instrumental activities of daily living, such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. are not included as extraordinary care needs….

DMAS allots paid caregivers in most cases are paid 1 hour - 1.5 hours per day household chores. Quite frankly, 2 hours per day is the max in extenuating circumstances. So why is it significant to point out that it is not in included in the equation of “extraordinary care.” Waiver recipients have met criteria for these services. So why beat a dead horse!
