Urgent Need for Adequate Compensation and Respect for Caregivers:

The proposed changes fail to recognize the immense sacrifices, challenges, and emotional toll caregivers endure. Adequate compensation and preservation of respite services are vital in recognizing the value and worth of caregivers' roles. Raising the pay for ROS (Respite and Other Services) acknowledges the demanding nature of the caregiving profession and demonstrates respect and support. Maintaining stability in the existing system is crucial, avoiding unnecessary changes that exacerbate caregiver burnout and financial struggles. A comprehensive understanding of the caregiver's perspective, gained by walking in their shoes, is necessary to foster empathy and ensure fair and equitable policies prioritizing the well-being of the caregiver and the individual receiving care.
