Overwhelming Burden on Caregivers and Inadequate Compensation:

The proposed changes are perceived as dismantling crucial support systems for caregivers, adding unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles to an already challenging situation. As a single parent responsible for caregiving, the burden of care and the associated relentless paperwork and appointments is already overwhelming. The new proposal, with its suggested cap on hours and removal of respite, exacerbates the existing challenges. The current level of compensation is insufficient, considering the demanding nature of caregiving responsibilities and their impact on the caregiver's well-being. Inadequate compensation and the absence of respite put the caregiver's mental health and overall quality of life at risk, pushing them toward financial hardship and burnout.
