The integrity of our election process is one of the most important components of our American government. With the recent changes made to the voting process in the past few years, the Virginia Registrars must have an efficient and effective means of verifying voter eligibility. Local government agencies are legally bound to protect individuals’ private information and can do so internally with the local Registrar’s office. Sharing this information will streamline the verification process for an office already inundated by FOIA requests and ever-changing regulations, which stretch their resources to the limits. I support the request for the State Board of Elections to approve the policy to provide a list of unqualified persons to the general registrars from internal state and local agencies.
