Limitations on Caregiver Hours and EOR Requirement

The proposed limitations, such as capping caregiver hours at 40 per week and mandating the EOR to be a nonrelative residing within a 50-mile radius, impose an excessive burden on struggling families. The rigid 40-hour weekly limit fails to consider the individual care needs of those approved for more than 40 hours, resulting in a blanket rule that disregards the specific requirements of each case. Additionally, the requirement for a nonrelative EOR within a limited proximity places families in the difficult position of finding someone to assume the EOR role without compensation while compromising the privacy and security of sensitive information. These limitations and requirements create unnecessary hardships for families, inhibiting their access to the care services they desperately need.
