Prioritize the expertise of Parents

The requirement that only one parent can serve as the Employer of Record (EOR) significantly hampers our ability to provide the best care for our children with disabilities. As dedicated parents actively involved in every aspect of our child's life, we possess invaluable knowledge and understanding of their unique needs. Excluding one parent from the EOR role denies our child the benefit of both parents' love, commitment, and expertise. We strongly advocate for a change that allows both parents to share the EOR responsibilities and contribute to the comprehensive care and support our child deserves.

We firmly believe that the requirement for a nonrelative Employer of Record (EOR) within 50 miles neglects the crucial role of parents in caring for their children with disabilities. No one understands our child's needs, preferences, and well-being better than we do as parents. It is frustrating and unfair that we must search for someone outside our family unit to assume this critical role. Allowing parents to act as the EOR acknowledges our deep commitment and ensures our child's seamless and nurturing care environment. We strongly advocate for this change to be considered, prioritizing the involvement and expertise of parents in their child's caregiving journey.
