Serving on a jury is a weighty responsibility and the public servants that maintain order in the process are to be appreciated. Their determination of why someone fails to show is necessary due diligence and of value - certainly worthy & credible to be shared with the public servants that maintain order in the voting process. Doubtless the appeal process for being stricken from either of the roles may need to be compared but this data must be shared and acted on - we must enhance the public's faith in the process. In a way, this change would be "raising the stakes" for jury service; that is appropriate since it is a duty.
