No mandate for agency directed

As a parent and caregiver to a child with disabilities, I implore you to not make the requirement to go to agency directed care. We have been consumer directed for the past 9 years and it has allowed us to find qualified care takers that we trust. When we first looked at agency care there were no good options! ZERO! And now as a parent who is my child’s caretaker, I feel strongly that families have a right to choose providers and not be forced into being an employee of an agency. My child requires certain, specific care that I have been trained in for months by professionals. And our other care takers (that we chose) were also trained for months. There is no way another could provide that and benefit my child in the same way. Also, my days start at 6am and end at 2am. Being a caretaker is exhausting. There is simply no time for me to become an employee of an agency, fulfill all their requirements and training. Please, stop making our already challenging lives more difficult. Let us keep some facet of control in the care of our children.
