As a parent of a disabled child, the new policy to eliminate the consumer directed attendant is ill advised. Not only does this eliminate care for children, it also adds to the administrative burden of the state. The hourly wage paid to attendants is insufficient to find quality care, especially when other employers are paying significantly more. Having parents register as employees creates another barrier and burden on families trying to provide for their children.
