Handicapped children and parents as consumer direct attendants

I don’t think it is fair that one set of people lose the benefit of consumer direct care just because the consumer is their child. If they are working the hours and doing the job and it keeps them from being able to work another job this seems unfair to them and the child. Other family members can work as consumer-attendant so why just this group is being limited seems like it is discrimination towards them in my opinion. I believe anyone who needs care should be able to choose who provides that care and that they should be able to get just as many hours as anyone who was not related.

Sincerely

Tory Waller
