Agency-directed care adds more work for parents

I am opposed to the proposed change that would force Consumer-Directed families currently receiving Appendix K to switch to Agency-Directed. Surely this would result in more work for parents, and there is already SO MUCH paperwork and meetings involved for our kids...most people just can't grasp all there is to do, in addition to caring for our children. Please do not add another layer of work and another agency to work with!!!

I now work as a part-time attendant and also hire other attendants using consumer directed care. I used agency-directed care at the beginning of when we received waiver services because I was incorrectly told that consumer-directed care was not an option. So my adult children and friends worked for the agency rather than me, which added extra time and expense for them to pursue required training, even though I of course trained them on what was needed in our home. Would this extra time and expense now also be required of parents?

I'm not aware of any benefits of switching to the proposed model but I do see much extra work ahead for already exhausted parents.
