I am the grandparent of a special needs child that is autistic, ADHD , PTSD, naming just a few of the issues. My child has an extent therapy and medication schedules that also does NOT deal well with strangers and his aggression and out burst are unmanageable in an ordinary daycare or school setting. There are many other issues as well as to why I am his paid caregiver. It would be very difficult for anyone else to step on and do the job that I am doing. Secondly my area doesn’t have any agency’s that handle child caregivers. I looked extensively before I made the decision to get the waiver to be the paid caregiver.
