Unhealthy for people & the environment

The data centers are a very poor use of the land. The BOCS permitted the land to be destroyed; thousands of trees were cut down. The environmental impact is serious, as is the threat to the health and well-being of citizens. Studies have proven the dangers. The BOCS only wanted to rely on the impact studies that agree with their narrative and they refuse to acknowledge the dangers. The BOCS threw the citizens under the bus when they approved the data centers. Now they want us to have to endure further disruption via permitting the data centers to utilize diesel generators to produce electricity. The diesel fumes can trigger asthma attacks, respiratory illness, etc. And we don’t need the additional noise. The quality of life in Gainesville is negatively impacted by the actions of the BOCS. They should not have been allowed to receive money from the developers prior to voting on the issues. There is definitely conflict of interest.
