NO TO THE VARIANCE

I find it astounding that on one hand, residents and business owners in VA are expected to do their part to protect the environment, with fines imposed in some instances.  Even our vehicles are subject to emissions laws.  However, when there is money to be made, variances are given to the detriment of the community and its residents.  I live in a neighborhood directly backing to proposed data centers.  While initially this didn't seem to be a huge impact, the county is now considering and in some instances giving variances to height, environmental impacts, and buffers - even with the buffers allowed, the data centers have now cleared beyond the agreed upon area, leaving clear lines of sight from my house to the eye sore.  I am firmly against the continued disruption to the environment, strain on the infrastructure, and the county's apparent complete disregard for residents impacted.
