Charitable Gaming Regulations

On behalf of Roanoke Moose Lodge #284, it's members and myself I would like to request no more than 30% of net proceeds for electronic gaming. Funds from gaming are vital to keeping our Lodge as well as many others operating on a daily basis. Restricting these funds and what they can be used for can be detrimental to a Lodge's finances and even cause closure. It is vital that we are able to collect funds properly as well as distribute them to the necessary areas that benefit our Lodge, and it's finances the most. I propose that we are allowed to use the funds for necessities such as payroll, light bills, internet bills, etc. Not becoming fully dependent on these funds but knowing that we are able to keep our doors open for our staff and members on a daily basis would relieve much financial stress. Without internet, we are unable to properly file with charitable gaming. Without power and water, we are unable to function as a safe environment following health, safety and fire codes. To top everything off, without internet and power, we are unable to use the gaming machines themselves due to the fact that they require both to function. Without payroll, we are unable to keep our establishment properly staffed to service our members, their families and their guests. Community outreach programs and community service would also cease when an establishment is unable to remain open. Please consider hearing all of our voices as we make these requests.
