I attended the meeting concerning new gaming regulations. The legislations will severely impact our club, as well as others, when it comes to being able to provide funds to the 20-30 local charities that we support. As a non-profit, we strive to be people helping others, but for the state of Virignia to now want to force organizations on how any profit can be used and where is direct contradiction of what our organization stands for and what this state use to stand for. Between the donation amount suggested and the deposit time would cause our club and others like it to close their doors, thus reducing the funds received by our local charities. Then add on the $200 fee for electronic gaming is another reduction to our ability to function. When our state starts dipping into our profits, tell us how we can use the money that comes in, we cannot pay our bills, pay our staff and NOT DONATE TO OUR CHARITIES!! Virginians pay enough taxes now! Please rethink this and how many needy people your choices will impact across this state.
