industrial scale metallic mining in Buckingham county a bad idea

Thank you for taking these comments. An industrial scale metallic mine in Buckingham county is a terrible idea. As a resident of the county, I am concerned about the toxins in the ground, air, and especially the water from such an operation. Cyanide is unregulated currently, and its use on such a scale could be catastrophic for the watershed. The forever cost of toxic cleanup would potentially bankrupt the county far into the future. Land values would likely go down, and the few local jobs would have a negligible impact on the local economy. The beneficiaries of such an operation would be remote corporate entities that would not have an interest in local quality of life issues. This whole idea is very misguided and I am deeply opposed to it. Thank you.
