Our elected officials should be protecting the right to vote for all eligible voters, not trying to prevent those who need to vote early from voting at all. Those affected will be mostly the frail and/or elderly and/or the working poor who may not be able to leave work or perhaps one of their two or more jobs to get to their polling place. My husband of 53 years, a WW II veteran, was dying of bone cancer , but he wanted to vote, and I drove him to Christiansburg, and helped him to get out of the van, and with his cane, he was able to cast his ballot. He died later that month. This campaign to keep the poor and the elderly from voting is sponsored by right wing interests who are buying our elected officials.
