Material Omissions

There exists no reason to change the regulations on material omissions for absentee ballots. The catch-all phrasing that is in the current regulation should be retained to protect each citizen's right to vote in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Election officials should take all available measures to make it as easy as possible for absentee voters to cast a vote in each election. Adding roadblocks to voting does not serve our citizenry in any way. We have thousands of service members fighting wars overseas who depend on absentee ballots to cast their vote back home in Virginia. Disallowing their votes due to misspelling, insignificant omissions or poor penmanship would be outrageous. These citizens are risking their lives for us. Please show respect to them and to all citizens of Virginia by NOT restricting their ability to vote while absent.
