Fundamental religious freedom to limit adoption to traditional family structures would be denied and abrogated by the proposed regulations on adoption. The proposed regulations are inherently self-contradictory, because religious freedom for Christians, Jews, and Muslims who maintain strict adherence to traditional family structures cannot be reconciled with a demand that adoption be permitted to homosexual couples. Orthodox believers in all three faiths are opposed to homosexual behaviors. The proposed regulations should be thrown out.
