As an adoptive mother I am very concerned that these new regulations will be a basis for discrimination against faith based adoption agencies in Virginia.  Those agencies, which because of moral objections cannot place children with same sex couples, will be required to discontinue adoption services (a reality that has happened in other states such as Massachusetts).  It would be a tremendous loss for Virginia to no longer have available the services of such adoptive agencies.  Many birthparents find great comfort in dealing with a specifically faith based agency that helps them during this most sensitive and emotional time in their life.  Please do not remove that option because of these proposed regulatory changes.
