Action | Adopt new standards for licensed private child-placing agencies. |

Dear Sir/Madam:
I object to the requirements in these proposed regulations that would require faith-based agencies to violate their religious principles by requiring these agencies to place children with homosexual or lesbian couples.
I'm unaware of any commonwealth statute that gives you the authority to require this sweeping change in social policy. If the Governor wants to institute this policy (AND I BELIEVE HE DOES NOT), he (and you) should have sought the authority to do so from the legislature. You also should have been more forthcoming, in terms of publicizing this portion of your proposal. (A cynic might think you are trying to put something over on us.)
Please advise me (and everyone else in the commonwealth) as to the identity of the person(s) who proposed this regulation, the identities of the person(s) who were responsible for the development of this regulation within your agency, and why this proposal received virtually no press coverage.
At a minimum, the comment period should be extended for an additional 45 days beyond the current April 1, 2011 closing date, and you should send a press release to every media outlet and blogger in the commonwealth; asking that they publicize this proposal and urge the voters to express their opinions by commenting on it.
These voters also may wish to contact your boss, the Governor, as well.
