I am writing to express my vehement opposition to 22VAC40-131-170 Part B, which provides no conscience clause exemptions for religious organizations when considering placements for adoption.

If these standards are approved as written, organizations such as Catholic Charities will no longer be able to assist women in the placement of their children for adoption, nor assist those families who would prefer to work with a religious organization when seeking to adopt a child.

I urge you to vote against this bill, so that religious organizations will be able to continue to provide the services that have helped so many.
