Please allow concealed and open carry of firearms

Dear Sir / Madam:

Thank you for considering a change to State Forest regulations allowing us to carry firearms for personal protection.

Bad things rarely happen in our State Forests but unfortunately they do happen.  My general approach to life is to be trained and prepared because when you are 'the one' it does not matter if you are the '1 in 10,000.'

In past years I have not used our State Forests, being more inclined to find alternative recreation than to place myself or my family where I cannot protect them.  I know it is far more likely that a fellow visitor will need my first aid training, my compass or my full water bottle but I prefer to be prepared for anything.

Please consider favorably the rule changes that will allow me to protect myself and my family.  Concealed and open carry is best for maximum flexibility with gear and clothing.

Best regards,

Tom Rooney
