As a citizen of Virginia, I strongly urge you to enact the proposed amendment to 4VAC10-30-170, allowing for the lawful carry of firearms and ammunition in state forests. This proposed amendment is a natural extension of current rights in state parks, national parks, and national forests. Failure to enact this amendment places otherwise law-abiding citizens at great disadvantage and peril of inadvertently misusing their rights.
