I strongly support the enactment of 4VAC10-30-170, which provides for the lawful open carry of firearms in State Parks. This is a commonsense provision which would bring State Parks in line with both National Parks policy and with the open carry laws in all of the rest of Virginia.

There is no reason why anyone who is entitled to open carry in Virginia should be banned from doing so and lose his/her Second Amendment rights to self defense simply because they have entered a State Park.

This policy has gone very smoothly in the National Parks system throughout the 50 states. It will go smoothly in Virginia State parks as well. Please enact. Thank you.
