It is my recommendation that the Background Check Regulations be reviewed and amended. The current regulation relating to CPS checks for non-foster children living in foster homes between the ages of 14-17 need to be revisited. Time frames for which background checks are to be conducted and considered is also an area to be evaluated and amended as they relate to approving foster families.
