Action | Amend Requirements for Carrying Handguns in State Forests |
Stage | Proposed |
Comment Period | Ended on 4/16/2010 |
Good Evening;
I have a concealed carry permit issued by the City of Hampton. I believe that persons with permits should be allowed to carry in State forests just as in the rest of the State. Please de-criminalize carrying in the forests. Those individuals from whom we need protection certainly will not comply with the existing prohibition when they enter the forests, and well may go to the forests seeking victims who will be disarmed when they comply with the ban. Those of us who do carry legally in the rest of the Commonwealth, may inadvertantdly break the law if we do not know the limits and boundaries of the state forests. If I carry while in a state forest without knowing that I am in a state forest, I would be breaking the law without intent.
Please make law enforcement easier, make laws more universal throught the State, and support our second amendment rights by allowing legal concealed carry within the forests.
