Action | Amend Requirements for Carrying Handguns in State Forests |

I support the proposed amendment that would allow concealed carry permit holders to carry within VA State Forests.
1. Trouble can happen anywhere: including State Forests. Virginia has determined that it is in the public interests that law abiding citizens (with knowledge of gun safety) be able to defend themselves from crime outside (as well as inside) their homes. There is no reason why State Forests should be different.
2. You either carry a concealed weapon or you don't: you don't carry it this place, but not that. You don't know when or where trouble may strike. Therefore, it causes a hardship (and possible accidental violation of the law) when you are allowed to carry in some places but not others in the state. Where are you going to put your gun if you can't carry it?
