I'm eager to be able to visit my state's parks alone or with friends and family without fear of intimidation by the criminal opportunists who tend to haunt these remote areas specifically because they are remote, etc.
I had stopped going to parks because here in Northern VA many gangs and their ilk have set up shop in these off-the-beaten track areas (as evindenced by the trash and graffiti). I have seen many instance of these charqacters daring others to proceed after encountering them. It's as if when you enter any little park, even a tot lot, you're encroaching on their turf.
The right to carry concealed in parks will not only allow me the quiet assurance of my own safety in areas that are difficult to police, it will make one more armed good guy available to assist others who are being intimidated or attacked.
Let's allow the good citizens of VA to carry concealed for everyone's benefit and we'll all be safer than ever.
