Hello,
Though I cannot attend the public hearing, I would like my voice to be heard as I speak for many law-abiding citizens in Southwest Virginia. My question to all would be "Why Not" let permit holders carry a concealed handgun on Virginia State Forests. What is it that everyone is afraid of? Personally I find myself “shying" away from visiting state forest lands outside of hunting season due to the fact I cannot be armed. Why? Because I don't feel safe. I know of several incidents, where people out enjoying nature got robbed by "thugs" on state lands.
I personally believe that if carry holders were able to carry a concealed handgun on State Forests, you might find more people visiting the Virginia State Forest Land.
I strongly urge you to consider letting permit holders carry a concealed handgun on state lands. You may find that your support for this may in fact save someone’s life.
Thank you for listening,
Nelson Vance
