As the news makes clear, extreme weather and rising sea levels are facts we have to deal with. Efforts to deal with flooding issues need greater support. Areas all over the state are increasingly subject to flooding due to sudden downpours and storm sewers designed for an earlier era. Because our climate emergency is largely due to the burning of fossil fuels, we must do everything we can to incentivize a transition away from fuels that damage our atmosphere and climate. It is an issue of survival for humanity and 1,000's of other species. Our involvement in RGGI is a good thing. It needs strengthening.
