As you are probably aware, the Mental Health Council has been working with VACSB on pursuing a regulation change through the Board of Counseling at the Department of Health Professionals to allow for:

1^st A regulation change to allow a hybrid approach to supervision hours where the QMHP-Trainee would complete some supervision hours with a seasoned QMHP who is specifically trained for this supervision, and some supervision with an LMHP.

2^nd Allow an undergraduate degree in criminal justice to be added to the Board of Counseling’s guidance document titled 115-8 - Approved Degrees in Human Services and Related Fields for QMHP Registration and to reinstate sociology as an approved degree.
