The wording of this law allows those with views far to the right of most Virginians to prevent our children from being introduced to stories that reflect the real world and the sexual and gender spectrum we all inhabit. It is wrong and misguided, and I believe these kinds of actions are what will eventually prove to be the undoing of the Republican Party because they are out of the mainstream on this. That might almost make me say “go ahead and do it” except I worry about the damage to our children in the meantime.
