I strongly oppose this bill

SB 656 is a dangerous bill that will make it very difficult for educators and librarians to create an open and educational atmosphere in our schools.  I recognize that different people may have different views of hot button topics, but this bill is so broad and non-specific, it will make it possible for a small minority of alarmist parents to inhibit public education for all of our students. It is far better to have a family conversation about particular religious beliefs than to ban anything that might bring up those topics in our public schools. The purpose of PUBLIC education is to create future citizens who are well informed and open-minded and capable of hearing and considering various viewpoints without feeling threatened about their own opinions. Let our students learn!
