Guidance Document Change: The guidance document "Model Policies Concerning Instructional Materials with Sexually Explicit Content" was developed in conjunction with stakeholders in order to comply with SB656 (2022).
SB656 is not necessary. This is readily apparent by the content of Section VI, Related Laws. The related federal and state laws are sufficient and adequately support parental involvement in the selection and use of instructional materials.
