Stop Censoring

I'm a parent and former teacher in Virginia. This bill opens the door to unnecessary censorship that targets at-risk youth. ALL children deserve to read books that reflect characters like themselves, and LGBTQ youth should be able to read books they identify with. Additionally, students that are not LGBTQ need exposure to these identities as well. We need to stop targeting teachers and public schools. If parents want control of their students' reading, then use the already-in-place ways to control their kids' reading. Do not waste precious teacher and librarian time culling books due to people's personal religious views. We cannot accept and push ridiculous laws like this. Let's work on actually improving teacher pay, funding our schools, and supporting at-risk youth instead.
